Shakespeare In The Park

Performed by Northeast Stage on the grounds of East Ends Arts Council

In the tradition of outdoor summer performances, Northeast Stage brings Shakespeare to life while seated in lawn chairs and or on a blanket with a picnic dinner by your side. All presentations aim to involve the community through participation as both presenters and audience, and to develop actors, directors, producers, designers, set builders and costumers through workshops and exposure to professionals in visual and performing arts.

Admission is free and an American Sign Language interpreter is on hand to provide translation to the deaf and hard of hearing.

Run For The Ridley 5K

Main Street - Open to all ages

New York Marine Rescue Center

This spirited annual run benefits the New York Marine Rescue Center in their effort to save the sea turtles. Kemp’s Ridley Sea Turtle (Lepidochelys kempii), also known as the Atlantic Ridley sea turtle, is the rarest species of sea turtle and is critically endangered. It is just one of many species that the New York Marine Center endeavors to rescue, rehabilitate and release every year as cold-stunned turtles arrive helpless on our beaches in the fall and winter and often die without discovery and response.

NYMRC offers a wide range of educational and recreational programs. Learn more about their organization and the efforts they expend in assisting Long Island marine life here
