2022 Riverhead Cardboard Boat Race | Sunset Beach Films

Riverhead Cardboard Boat Race

See you in 2025!

Get crafty and start paddling! With just cardboard and some duct tape, create your vessel to see how far you can make it down the Peconic River.

The Riverhead Cardboard Boat Race is one of summer’s most exciting events along the Peconic Riverfront!

Races of various categories include the Youth Regatta, Yacht Club Regatta, Outlaw and Pirate Race where Captains and Skippers paddle their cardboard boats as fast as they can before sinking!

Scullers will be called on stage to accept their winning trophies and additional prizes like Best Spirit, Titanic Sinking, Best Constructed, and Most Creative.

Hosted by the Riverhead Business Improvement District in conjunction with the Riverhead Chamber of Commerce, this popular community event has attracted locals for years. In 2019, we had participants come from as far as Massachusetts and Virginia!

Downtown restaurants, breweries and shops will be open for takeout, indoor/outdoor dining and shopping. Visit our Downtown Riverhead Business Directory for a list of venues.
