Riverhead’s Spring Clean-up

Reflecting on Saturday's AMAZING turnout for Riverhead's Spring Clean-up is the best way for us to say "Happy Earth Day!"

Thank you to all of the volunteers that helped us clean the streets, parks, and public spaces throughout our town. Together we ARE making a difference!

A note from the The Riverhead Anti-Litter Committee: What a great feeling it was to meet so many of you on Saturday! Your hard work has made our town much more beautiful. It brought a smile to my face as I drove around and saw so many clean streets and beaches!

We had an amazing turnout of 200 volunteers! 200! Thanks to you we were able to clean up 35 streets, parks and beaches. That is amazing! I can't thank you enough for caring about our community and volunteering your time YOU MADE IT HAPPEN!

The Anti Litter committee is in the process of meeting with the Town to decide next steps which I hope will be more frequent cleanups to get the upper hand on litter. We're also talking about an education effort to go out to schools, community groups, churches, etc. And we're going to try to sign up more sponsors.

I hope I can count on you to help us again . I will keep you posted on our next cleanup.
