Leadership Awards Dinner July 22, 2021 6pm at River Walk Bar & Grille will honor local hero, Marcus Santana, U.S. Marine Sergeant and Marisa Striano, Founder of Spirit's Promise Equine Rescue Program.
The Annual Summer Basketball Tournament will be hosted August 14 & 15, 2021 at Osborn and Horton Avenue Park in Riverhead. Since 2006, the Stop The Violence Summer Basketball Tournament has long been recognized as one of the region’s premier basketball tournaments. The double-elimination tournament starts at 9 a.m. Saturday and continues all day then picks up again on Sunday at 9 a.m. for the semi-finals and finals. Teams come from across the region to play in the tournament and compete for a prize of $5,000. At the heart of the tournament, we look to stop street violence by supporting efforts that create environments where people can make acquaintances, get to know each other, and build friendships.
COVID-19 Public Safety
To ensure the safety of our community, this year’s tournament will be streamed live online to address social distancing. No spectators will be permitted onsite during the tournament. Participating teams, referees will be required to wear a mask, temperature checks before every game, and social distance on the sideline within marked out “team only” zones. We appreciate your support during these unprecedented times.
