Today is National Nonprofit Day, a tremendous opportunity to recognize, acknowledge and celebrate the positive impact nonprofits have on communities across the country.

The Riverhead Business Improvement District [downtownriverhead.org] presented the Town of Riverhead Supervisor and Board with a request of support for downtown office space in hopes of building deeper connections to the businesses, organizations, residents and visitors of Downtown Riverhead.

The Riverhead BID is excited to expand Alive on 25's family-friendly offerings by designating Peconic Avenue as a 'Kid's Zone' during the summer series July 29th, August 12th and 19th.

Stop the Violence Long Island is hosting two events in Riverhead over the summer. Leadership Awards Dinner July 22, 2021 6pm at River Walk Bar & Grille will honor local hero, Marcus Santana, U.S. Marine Sergeant and Marisa Striano, Founder of Spirit's Promise Equine Rescue Program.

The Riverhead Cardboard Boat Race is one of summer’s most exciting events along the Peconic Riverfront. Race in various categories, including the Youth Regatta, Riverhead Yacht Club Regatta, Grand National Regatta, and Outlaw Race for prizes like best spirit, Titanic sinking, best constructed, and most creative.

Alive on 25 is a free summer street festival in Downtown Riverhead offering local craft beverages and wine, live music, artists, street vendors and activities the whole family can enjoy. The walkable, pop-up festival on Main Street features restaurant offerings, artist exhibitions, and so much more!

Enthusiasts of local suds are thrilled to see our downtown and beyond grow into the self-proclaimed ‘Craft Capital’ of Long Island! Breweries and distilleries are popping up all over our map, and we’ve put one together for you to find them all.

The Town of Riverhead Veterans Advisory Committee has partnered with the Riverhead Business Improvement District and Wedel Sign Company to honor past and present Veterans, Active-Duty, Reserve, and National Guard members by installing tribute banners on lamp posts along Main Street.

The Riverhead BID and Peconic Bay Medical Center are reuniting for another double-impact fundraiser aimed at supporting hospital workers fighting on the frontline as well as downtown Riverhead’s small businesses, all facing challenges during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Sweeping, scrubbing, and watching over our streets, our BID Ambassador Brian acts as our 👀 and 👂👂 downtown and looks after high traffic areas such as Main Street, Grangebel Park, the Riverfront, parking areas, and train station.

Brian is our right-hand man and helps with downtown cleanup, snow removal, improvements, safety, events, and so on.

In 2020 Brian spent 780 hours cleaning, filled and removed 381 bags of trash from our streets and walkways, and spent 6 days removing snow from sidewalks and entryways 💪

A big thanks to Brian, and to all of you who slam dunk the junk into trash receptacles throughout downtown!
